WWW | Go Ahead & Cheat

Don’t worry girls (and guys), I’m not talking about your relationships just your diet! I’m going to be open and honest and tell you when you know it’s okay to cheat on your diet with some proof and personal testimony.

I was sitting in church last Sunday when they began preparing us for the Lord’s Supper. And the sad part was I debated for a minute not taking it because it broke Paleo diet. How horrible is that?!?! That is when I finally realized that my diet had become an idol. I’m not saying it’s bad to have diets but when they become more important than those that mean the world to you and God Himself. I forgot to mention that I pretty much have refused to take a bite from my own wedding cake in December. I know, I know. I’ve been convicted, though, and have seen the light. So, in order to help you with your cheating and still reach your goals and stick to the diet, I’ve developed some rules.

1.       Plan your cheat. Don’t go crazy, and stick to your diet 90-99% of the time. Restrain yourself. For example, instead of a whole day, just do a single meal. However, don’t let your cravings decide when you splurge. This is huge.

2.      Stop calling it cheating. No one is perfect, and frankly, you deserve to have a treat every once in a while.
3.      Don’t freak out the next morning. I am that person that I instantly weigh the next morning to find out I’ve gained 10 pounds overnight. Okay, usually more like a couple, but still. When you treat yourself, you usually hang on to water more because you’re eating things you aren’t used to. Some lucky few can splurge and lose, but that’s unfortunately not me.

4.      Know that cheating can actually help you in the long run. The more you cheat the right way the more your body will adjust to post diet food. It may cause some anxiety and stress, but let’s be real: you’re not going to stick to your diet 100% for the rest of your life.

5.      If you’re going to cheat, do it after a workout. This is the best way to maintain your weight. Work hard, cheat hard. You can usually maintain with a somewhat restricted diet and a hard workout This is also vice versa. If you cannot work out, stick to your diet.

6.      If you’re going to cheat, fill your cravings, but do it in small portions and eat very slowly. Drink lots of water and take lots of breaks too to help fill you up so you don’t eat and splurge too much. For example, eat a serving size or less than, but definitely no more.

You may have your own methods, but these are what help me. So go ahead, go endu and go cheat, just be really wise.

And if you have any questions or topics you want me to address, just let us know!!!
